Short Circular Route Under 10 km with Two Descents – Just Over an Hour of Riding
Ideal for those days when you have little time but still crave some adrenaline. It’s also perfect for escaping the fog, as at this altitude, it’s almost always sunny when the lower Bierzo is covered in mist.
At kilometer 2.5, in the middle of the climb to the Picón viewpoint, you'll find access to the third section of Spain’s only uphill flow trail of its kind built to date. This unique trail is designed to maximize the capabilities of electric bikes while also meeting the specifications for adaptive cycling. (It can also be ridden downhill, but hikers and ascending cyclists have the right of way.) The trail leads to the Picón 360° viewpoint, offering the best panoramic views of El Bierzo.
From El Picón, the first descent begins: Los Zoalas, a 1,200m-long blue trail.
Once you reach the main path, you can climb back to El Picón via a 1,100m-long firebreak, featuring some demanding sections but rewarding you with stunning views of Los Alquilamos, making the climb more enjoyable. (Perfect for electric bikes.)
After reaching El Picón again, you take the 1 km red trail back to Ocero.
At kilometer 8, there’s an option to take a path that climbs back up without reaching the village.
